Sarah , I am not particularly educated with no college at all. I could read your writing all day long. I especially like how outspoken you are. It all makes so much sense. I am not quite sure what the idea is behind the site itself besides the sharing of ideas and social discourse. I do enjoy it though very much at a time in my life where I am in desperate need of a distraction. Thank You.

This ridiculous generalization keeps us from becoming a healthy multicultural society.

Oh Sarah, I apologize. I actually agree with everything in your post, and I wrote a vague Twitter-like comment in response, and you were right to call me out on it. The generalization that all white people are racist has affected my own behavior, I feel very anxious about interacting with people of color at times because I fear I will get slapped with a racist tag, and that is part of what I struggle to say about it being detrimental to the type of society we should all seek.

20 years ago, I worked in a very multicultural tech consulting firm. We all got along, worked well together and learned from each other. I feel like there is so much more polarization now.

Thank you for the clarification. And I understand exactly what you mean. As an aside (not related to your comment), I am very happy to have people disagree with me, as long as they are willing to engage in rational discourse.

I was very specific. Your assertion that it "keep us from becoming a healthy multicultural society" is a sweeping generalization accompanied by zero explanation, specificity, evidence, or rationality. That kind of ad hominem attack creates an unhealthy society.

Thank you Sarah. I so wish my daughter and 22 year old granddaughter could understand this. I am astounded by the racism inherent in stating whites are so racist, by nature, that they can't see their racism. Madness

It seems absurd, doesn't it, that people just unquestioningly accept the most baseless accusations.
